About The Old Dragon

In Brief…

At time of (re)writing I am 53 and 1/2 years old and have for the last 10 years been practising Chundo kwon which is a Korean style Karate.  Having started in 2013 to keep my young daughter company out on the Tatami I actually got a bit obsessed.
In December 2017, 4 years after my first grading  I attained the grade of 1st Dan, an achievement that has generated a huge amount of pride in myself. Then 6 years after that I achieved 2nd Dan grade and this has generated a huge amount of bemusement and confusion, but that could be age thing.

My daughter on the other hand has been a little less keen and currently sits at a Blue Belt. Still working on that one, but Field Law says she has to do it until she is at least 16.  Well, time has moved on since that was typed up, The Whizz is now 16 and just last weekend achieved her 1st Dan Black Belt.  Technically she could give up now but she has been down the Dojo most days since the grading.  Bless her powerful Gyaku zuki

We are club members of the SD School of Martial Arts and registered with Toyakwai Karate Association and the EUKF.

This site is my blog on the subject.

A nod to the fellow Old Dragons who share the joy of Chop Chop and the hindrance of an uncooperative body.
